Kebaya, Creativity Under Traditional Boundary

The picture above shows you about Indonesian (javanese in precise) wedding dress on the last decade. Most of them not buy that uniform. They only rent. So one picture and another, one bride and another, from time to time just look similiar. Not imposible they are all rent exacly same uniform ^_^.

In modern wedding tradition, women need to be unique as a bride, so they buy their own gown. This is why kebaya as a wedding dress become popular and kebaya designer like Anne avanti got famous.

Even the patron of kebaya have limitation, creativity is unlimited. Kebaya as a wedding dress become industri, became an art, and another sub business in Indonesian wedding tradition.

Becak Tariff in Indonesia

If you come to Indonesia and wanna feel using becak as an accomodation, you have to know what price you have to pay. Usualy, becak transport cost about $1-$1.5/kilometer. It depend on the track. Since powered by muscle, flat track and incline track result on different amount of food the becak's driver consume. The driver also consider your weight. Kid pay less, sumo's probably pay double or forbiden.

Don't forget about muscle engine, since they are all men, sexy - pretty girl pay less also, or probably free (if i was the driver, for instance ^_^).

Ok, boys n girl. Welcome to Indonesia.

House Built from Coconut Palm Tree

Indonesia is house for coconut. We are biggest exportir of coconut oil. And you see, the coconut palm tree can be beautiful to docorate or even to create a house.

RUMAH KAYU GLUGU - Balikpapan
Coconut is a fruit of the coconut palm tree, its trunk is one to two feet in diameter. It has no branches but carries a crown leaves of about 70 to 100 feet above the ground, its leaves is like a feather and with many segments, leaves are usually 10 to 20 feet long. The coconut fruit hang at the bases of the leaves in clusters of about 10 to 15. Several clusters ripen during the year. A tree may produce 200 coconuts a year, but the average is just around 40. Coconut tree grows wild on tropical seacoasts, and is cultivated in moist, frost-free climates, it is abundant in Southeast Asian countries.

How Coconut Tree Grow? Ever wonder how coconut trees can easily increase in numbers? When coconut ripen, they fall from the tree and are frequently washed out to the sea. Some may drift for months before they are cast up by the waves onto the shore. After 4 to 5 months, the seed sprouts and a new tree begins to grow. In about 6 years the tree will begin to bear coconut and it will reach its full bearing time at 20 years. Coconut tree is very strong and it can resist strong typhoons, coconut tree does not also need a lot of maintenance unlike the mango tree which needs a lot of care and fertilizers.

Another Classic Bali Pictures

I have posted about this before, and this is the addition. Old Bali is unique since many women going topless everywhere they go. Its different if we comparing it with african ethnic or something like that (hope u know what i mean..), couse its not about their economical condition. Its just purely tradition. They prefer covering up their knee rather than their breast ^_^. Look.., i'm not kidding...
